Lee Mandley Volunteer of the Month: September 2020

Volunteer of the Month

Nominations Committee: AJ, Keith, & Mern

The committee has successfully planned and conducted the nomination and election for the 2021 Board to allow three months of transition time.

The Nominations Committee this year has provided exceptional service to the chapter with a successful election completing for the 2021 Board members in September 2020. In the beginning of this year, the committee was challenged to work early to bring in the election schedule by months to allow a three-month transition period. The committee not only met the schedule but improved the process by the new video interviews for all candidates that member voters could view to get to know the prospective 2021 board members. The committee's performance was recognized by long time chapter leaders to be the best election they've seen. As the Nomination Committee continues their work in training and mentoring the new board members, the board recognizes their outstanding contribution with this VOM award.

Great job and congratulations, AJ, Keith, and Mern!

About the Lee Mandley Volunteer of the Month Award:

Founding Director of the PMI-LA Alhambra Community Meeting located at DeVry, Lee was a Construction PM and a long-time member of the chapter.  He was the voice and liaison for the San Gabriel Valley members east of Pasadena.  Lee was the first director to institute round table discussions on interesting Project Management Topics when a speaker had to cancel at the last moment.   Since 2012, we have presented the ‘Volunteer of the Month’ award to a key volunteer who exhibits the outstanding trait of working “outside-the-box” to ensure that chapter operations are running smoothly in their area.  This award was renamed later that year to honor Lee Mandley.
