Leadership = Power Skills

Being a project manager means you are constantly busy meeting with stakeholders, checking in with team members, and completing tasks, leaving little time to think about your overall career path. This presentation will provide practical tips for setting career directions specific to your interests and aptitudes, acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge, and gaining a series of rewarding job assignments. You will leave with practical steps to advance your personal development, either within project management or other leadership positions.

Dr. Rick Hefner serves as the Executive Director for Caltech’s Center for Technology and Management Education, which provides training programs to technology- driven professionals and organizations. He has over 40 years of experience in project management and has worked with companies and government agencies in the aerospace, communications, electronics, and health sciences industries. He is credited with over 200 publications and is active in several professional societies. Dr. Hefner has his BS and MS in Engineering from Purdue and his PhD in Engineering from UCLA.
