Adopting PM Philosophies to enhance performance
For many years, healthcare organizations have focused on the triple aim – improving the experience of care, improving the health of populations, and reducing per capita costs of health care. Hospitals, in particular, are looking for ways to dramatically improve performance to meet patient, regulatory, and payer expectations. Learn from a former project/process engineer and current hospital COO how hospitals are working to make the transition to high performing organizations and how they are adopting project management philosophies like LEAN and Six Sigma to enhance their performance.
The learning objectives for this discussion will include:
- Hospital structure, roles, and responsibilities – comparison to manufacturing organizations
- How hospitals have incorporated project management philosophies and tools into operations
- Opportunities in healthcare for project managers
