PMP Certification Overview

The Project Management Institute offers a project management certification program. The project management certification program is the development, maintenance, evaluation, promotion, and administration of a rigorous, examination-based, professional certification program of the highest caliber.

The PMI Certification Web page identifies:
  • eligibility requirements;
  • steps to obtaining the credential;
  • exam information;
  • certification fees;
  • credential maintenance cycles and requirements.

The Los Angeles Chapter offers PMP preparation courses. The purpose of these workshops is to assist PMI Members in preparation for the PMP Certification Exam by providing the materials and guidance for members to prepare for the exam. The sessions are conducted by PMI members from the Southern California area who have PMP credentials in good standing.

Why take the PMP Prep Workshop?

The PMP Prep Workshop creates an interactive study environment led by an established subject matter expert, allowing participants to prepare effectively for the exam. The workshop helps enrollees to identify weak knowledge areas, where concentrated studying will increase the probability of passing the exam. The workshop environment also provides the support and assistance of other project managers who are studying for the exam. Please note, however, that the prep course will not suffice to pass the PMP credential exam - credential candidates need to study outside of the workshop!
